Dr Amir Mehdizade

Dr Amir Mehdizade is the founder of the Centre d'Imagerie de Lancy (CIL). Born in Iran in June 1967, he arrived in Switzerland at the age of fifteen and finished school in Bern. He then moved to Geneva to study at the Faculty of Medicine, obtaining his Swiss federal medical diploma in 1999.

Dr Mehdizade pursued specialist training in radiology, first at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) until he earned the FMH specialist title. He completed his radiology training in New York at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, gaining scientifically validated expertise in breast and body imaging, then at the renowned Hospital for Special Surgery, also in New York, acquiring expertise in musculoskeletal imaging.

On his return to Geneva University Hospitals as chef de clinique in 2011, he qualified in diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology, and has been consultant at HUG in this field ever since.

After several years working in a group radiology practice in Geneva, Dr Mehdizade founded his own imaging centre in Lancy in 2017.

Dr Mehdizade speaks and writes several languages: Persian, his mother tongue; English since childhood; German and Swiss-German, learned in Bern; French, learned during his Geneva studies; and Spanish, learned out of interest. He also understands Italian and some Japanese. His CV includes around twenty scientific and clinical publications and presentations.
