What to know
Mammography, often combined with breast ultrasound, offers diagnostic precision essential in the fight against breast cancer. A technician will position your breasts between two plates to perform an X-ray.
- Preparation
- No special preparation. If you are not menopausal, the exam must be performed early in the cycle. Bring your previous breast imaging exams. Avoid any cosmetics on the breasts and underarms on exam day.
- Duration
- 15 to 30 minutes.
